Mighty Muggs Saturdays (Monkey Man)

He may be just one of those bit players from Raiders of the Lost Ark, and (truth be told) now that the Indy line of Muggs is officially deader than a parrot in a Monty Python sketch; I'd much rather have seen the release of planned Indy Muggs of more prominent characters like Toht, and Young Indy. Still, I do love that monkey...

HELL YEEEEESSSSSS!!!!

Okay. I've been checking out Sideshow's online catalog for weeks now, toying with the idea of adding one of their 1/6th G.I. Joe figures to my collection. While I really like the characters they've put out so far (Snake Eyes, Cobra Commander, Cobra Trooper), the one member of Cobra's roster remained missing, however from Sideshow's Joe catalog: STORM SHADOW.
Not anymore though...

More Watchmen Hype

Mighty Muggs Saturdays (Mola Ram)

Sure there's evil villains. Not too many "rip-out-your-still-beating-heart-before-lowering-you-into-a-pit-of-molten-lava" evil villains though.

Mattel "Movie Masters" Ghostbusters 1/6th At New York Comic Con 2009

These will apparently be part of a new series of 12 inch "Movie Masters" figures by Mattel and sculpted by Four Horsemen Studios (of DC Classics and the newer Masters of the Universe figures).
Film accurate versions of the Ghostbusters characters have been on my "Figures I'm Sorely Missing" list for decades now.
Feast your eyes...

Out With Old...

Okay. So, just in case you (as a collector) have been living in a spider hole somewhere on the outskirts of Tikrit for the past few months, the artisans over Hot Toys finally got their hands on the Hellboy lisence and will be delivering 1/6th scale figures of both Big Red and his amphibious sidekick, Abe Sapien.
Great news.
Unfortunately, if you're like me, and sayyyyyy... a couple months or so prior to the news that Hot Toys will be putting out HB figures, you buy the older 1/6th scale figures that Sideshow Toys put out a couple of years back.
Now, don't get me wrong. Sideshow is a great company and they've been known to put out some really, really cool swag. However, Hot Toys versions of Abe Sapien and Hellboy absolutely blow Sideshow's editions out of the water. Here, let me show you...
Sideshow's Abe Sapien...

And now, behold Hot Toys version of Abe Sapien...

So, needless to say, both my Sideshow edition of Abe Sapien, as well as their Kroenen were listed on Ebay this past week. This is one of those little quirks that as a collector, I've always run afoul of: every time a newer, better quality version of one figure comes out, I immeadiatley sell the older version, to make way for the new. Though, given the price tag of Hot Toys 1/6th figures, I usually need to raise some extra cash anyway. Check out their upcoming Hellboy...

Yet another figure that went up for auction on Ebay this past week was my Medicom RAH 24 Jack Bauer. A decent figure to be sure, but this time, along comes Enterbay with these...

Now how about their President David Palmer...

Amazing. A-freakin'-mazing.
