HOT TOYS MMS104 Terminator Salvation 1/6th T-600 (with skin) Preview...

Fuck yeah!
There was a general glut of belly aching amidst the community of 1/6th collectors over the late arrival of this one. Everyone felt that Hot Toys was performing one of their usual overhauls of previously released characters (Iron Man Mark 2 and 3, and their Dark Knight Jokers are the major gripe right now). When the announcement came of a variant version of the T-600 from Terminator Salvation (along with an updated John Connor), it sent most collector's into a frothing, fury of curse laden diatribes regarding another Hot Toys cash-in. Truthfully, I was anticipating joining in. Then I caught a glimpse of the new, flesh covered T-600.
This is no mere variation.
This is the mother fucking bomb, bitches...

Not unlike the previously posted, Boba Fett, would-be Sith villainess, Asajj Ventress also made her Star Wars galactic debut in an animated adventure. Appearing in the original
2-D animated Clone Wars shorts that aired on Cartoon Network in 2003.
Along with the alien Bounty hunter Durge, Ventress is dispatched by the Separatist leader, and all around douche nozzle, Count Dooku, to aid in the fight against the clone armies of the Republic, and the Jedi. Her main mission though, is the assassination of Jedi Knight, Anakin "I Hate Sand" Skywalker.

After the original animated adventures wrapped up, George Lucas went on to produce the current CGI animated Clone Wars series, as well as an animated Clone Wars theatrical feature.

Sideshow's 1/6th G.I. Joe COBRA COMMANDER

I had to pick this one up. After my usual hemming and hawing over the price, and whether or not I currently have enough shelf space to accommodate another larger scale figure, I opted for a "fuck it", and picked it up on Ebay for 60 bones. Ladies and Germs, I give you the one, the only, the ever stylish (in his shoulder padded leather duster), Cobra Commander...
With both Sideshow's C.C. and Snake Eyes on my shelf (as well as the aforementioned Storm Shadow on the pre-order list), I might end up ordering the Cobra Trooper too.

The trench coat had a lot of fans grumbling. I kind of like it. Plus, it beats the crap out of the images of the upcoming film version of C.C. that have surfaced on the web.

A Blade Runner Figure That's Actually Worth Buying...

The merchandising licence to Blade Runner is allegedly mired in morass of legal mumbo jumbo. That being the case, it'll take a good three or four decades before any legit Blade Runner figure from a company like Sideshow or Hot Toys will hit shelves. However, as any collector of 1/6th scale figures worth their weight in custom made head sculpts knows, you can always count on smaller toy companies with grapefruit sized genitals to scoff at little things like "legalities" and "merchandising licences" and take the creative reigns and make kick ass figures of kick ass movie characters by simply re-naming famous properties with near similar sounding titles. Hence figures like Subway's ax wielding, Jack Nicolson in "The Screaming", Loading Toys Jason Statham "The Courier" and so on. Now, Brother Productions and Dr. Figures has done a smashing job of cobbling together Harrison Ford's Deckard with their upcoming 1/6th scale "Blade Hunter" figure....

In the distant future, mankind will be unable to match their shirts with their neck ties...

Wayyyy Late On The...

Yes, I'm well aware that it's now officially Sunday and that Mighty Muggs Saturday is a day late. In fact, MM Saturdays has been absent from the world wide blogosphere for a couple of weeks now. So, rather than deprive my vast audience of six readers of another post of tubby, vinyl goodness, I decided to post MM Saturday on a Sunday. Sue me.
This week's Mugg is a none other than the intergalactic bounty hunting, mercenary bad-ass, Boba Fett.

Even is spite of the fact that Ol' Boba had a mere smattering of screen time in the original Trilogy, as well as having his ass handed to him by a carbon freeze blinded Han Solo and Mark Hamil, he remains a fan favorite.

With his slim amount of screen time, Boba never really did much of anything but linger around in the background, gripping his blaster and look threatening. He fired off a couple of shots at Luke on Cloud City during the Empire Strikes Back, and took part in the action sequence over the Sarlacc Pit in Return of the Jedi, but still, never really hauled off and beat the crap out of anyone.

Here's Boba's first ever appearance (in animated form) from the grand daddy of embarrassments to all Star Wars fans, The Star Wars Holiday Special...
