DC Direct Kingdom Come Superman...

From one of my all time favorite graphic novels, an aged Man of Steel...

DC Direct did a moderate job of capturing Alex Ross's vision of Superman in Kingdom Come. Ross's version is a bit more square jawed and heroic than the figure DC Direct produced. Their version seems a bit frumpy- he goes from looking like the stalwart superhero, to looking more like an assistant junior highschool principal.

DC Direct WATCHMEN Nite-Owl (Modern)...

Everybody has their favorite member of their favorite superhero teams. X-Men fans are prone to Wolverine, Fantastic Four fans might be partial to The Thing, maybe an errant JLA fan or two are die hard Martian Manhunter geeks. When it comes to Watchmen, I've always been partial to the modern version of Nite-Owl. Something about a nerd kicking ass and getting to nail some impossibly hot superheroine (cough-Malin Ackerman-cough) always makes me smile...

DC Direct WATCHMEN Rorschach...

While nowhere near on the same level as NECA or McFarlane, DC Direct pulled off some pretty nice figures for their six inch Watchmen movie series. Here's everyone's favorite sociopath with an ink spear kisser, Rorschach...

Clone Wars Season 2 Preview...

DC Direct WATCHMEN Dr. Manhattan...

Regular readers are well aware of my wanton affection for Alan Moore's magnum superheroic opus, Watchmen. No doubt, the past year or so here ar PPP has been steeped with more Watchmen hype than one could shake a meat cleaver at. With that in mind, it's little wonder that Your's Truly garnered the following six inch plastic trinket from the local Spencer Gift's not too long ago...

1/6th Re-Animator Herbert West Figure...

Waaaaayyy back in a previous post I lamented as to what an abject atrocity it was that SOTA's Re-Animator Herbert West action figure seemed unlikely to hit shelves any time soon. Well, fuck SOTA in their gored out eye sockets, because the noble fellows and lasses over at AMOK TIME (knowing full well the needs and desires of horror toy collectors) will soon be issuing a 1/6th scale Herbert West figure!
The lab coat looks a tad too spotless. More blood! More brain matter! Customizing is a must on this one!
Not a bad likeness of Jeffrey Combs at all...
