Mighty Muggs MEGATRON

The eighties crapped out some of pop cultures biggest baddies: Darth Vader. Cobra Commander. Skeletor. Mumm-Ra. MEGATRON. Despotic leader of the Decepticons, Megatron lead battle after battle against Optimus Prime, and the heroic Autobots after every school day during the 1980s. Here's the main mechanical badass himself, Mighty Muggs style...

DC Universe 12 Inch Cyborg Superman

Life can administer some pretty fucking cruel and unusual sentences upon the innocent sometimes. Just ask Hank Henshaw. Poor bastard. The one-time ace rocket scientist was doused with cosmic radiation (Fantastic Four style) while on a shuttle mission. Both he and his wife, Terri, suffer hideous side effects due to their radiation exposure; the Missus corporeal form begins to "phase" into an alternate dimension, while Hank's own body begins to slowly decay. Hank somehow manages to ally his consciousness with the mainframe to Lexcorp's computer systems before his body's eventual total decimation, and then (Christ Almighty, this is convoluted, DC...) is able to manipulate technology. Like all nutjob comic book villains, Henshaw believes that the title's hero (in this case The Man of Steel) is somehow responsible for his horrid fate, and in true comic book fashion, seeks revenge. I won't bore you to tears with the rest. Suffice it to say, he somehow becomes "Cyborg Superman" and turns up in the Reign of the Supermen run from some years back. Here's Mattel's 12 inch, Toys R Us exclusive figure...

This Week's Haul...

Hasbro has all my money!!!!!!!!!!!
Like I said earlier, Grimlock's my all time favorite Transformer.

Watched the Clone Wars on DVD yesterday, went out to TRU later, had to pick up Cody.

Yep! Loves my Joe figures! Hall of Heroes Crimson Guard courtesy of Amazon, the rest, TRU.

Mighty Muggs Transformers: Grimlock

As a kid, Grimlock was my favorite of all the Transformers characters. His transformational premise just made a hell of a lot more sense to my adolescent brain; I mean, why transform into a VW Bug or Porshe 935, when you can turn yourself into a mechanized T-Rex? Here's Big G's Mighty Mugg incarnation...

DC Direct 1/6th Classic Superman Figure...

Lots of grousing's been done about the quality of certain 13 inch DC Direct figures. While certainly not on the same level of quality as Sideshow, they're not at all worthy of the slings and arrows delivered upon them by certain collectors. I myself think that they're pretty damn bitchin'. Here's the first one I ever laid money down on...

DC Direct Justice Bizarro...

In the Superman mythos, Bizarro's always been a character who's been played mostly for laughs. Not unlike Mxyzptlk, Bizarro has always been more of an irritant to the Man of Steel, than an actual, maliciously minded foe. Not so in Justice. Alex Ross version of Bizarro was freakin' scary...

Definitely one of my favorite Superman figures.

DC Direct Ed McGuinness Superwoman and Bizarro...

Two more DC Direct figures from Superman/Batman by artist, Ed McGuinness. First off, from an alternate reality dominated by female heroes, Superwoman...

Ed McGuinness version of Bizarro kicks ass...
